Looking for Office Volunteers!
The United Way of York Region office is looking for office volunteers to assist with administrative tasks.
Administrative tasks including: data entry, filing, thank you calls, managing inventory, preparing campaign supplies and other day-to-day office tasks.
As an office volunteer you will have the opportunity to:
- Gain and further develop your office administration skills
- Work with a dynamic, skilled group of dedicated volunteers and staff
- Work regular, daytime hours based on your schedule and availability
Good communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, databases and the internet would be considered an asset. Student and senior volunteers welcome.

York Region business leaders provide strategic guidance and leadership to the annual fundraising campaign.

Community Investment Committee
The Community Investment Committee oversees the distribution of funds from the United Way of York Region Community Fund. It coordinates regular Community Needs Assessments to ensure funding is directed to the most pressing human care needs. In addition, it conducts a vigorous review of all funding applications.

Community Engagement and Research Committee
The Community Engagement and Research Committee oversees research and community engagement activities that will help UWYR to identify and address critical human service needs in York Region. These activities are to enable UWYR to maximize impact of allocation of funds, and improve public awareness of UWYR and human service issues in York Region.

Account Executives
A dedicated team of volunteer Account Executives are front line United Way Ambassadors. They coordinate one on one visits with York Region’s Corporate leaders each year to secure Corporate Gifts and support for Employee Campaigns.
Employee Campaign Chairs
Employee Campaign Chairs execute dynamic fundraising campaigns in their workplaces. This very important duty requires enthusiasm, commitment and a desire to have a great time while helping the community!
Canvassers
Canvassers are our front-line! They act as ambassadors, encouraging colleagues to participate in their Employee Campaign. These people play a vital role – in essence they are a volunteer sales force.
