United Way of York Region’s Community Fund

United Way of York Region’s Community Fund is an uncomplicated solution to complicated social issues. When you give to the Community Fund, you give United Way the flexibility to focus funding where it will have the greatest impact.

Your Community Fund donation is critical in fulfilling the potential of newcomers and immigrants; offering a safer tomorrow for women and children fleeing abuse; supporting people and families grappling with mental health; promoting literacy; and creating affordable housing options and immediate support for the homeless.

United Way establishes and participates in partnerships and coalitions to advocate for positive change in York Region.

Human Services Planning Coalition (HSPC)
The Human Services Planning Coalition is an advisory, resource, and planning forum for human service providers in York Region. HSPC has representation from 16 different sectors, residents and all levels of government. It was created to identify on-going needs and long-term solutions; co-ordinate human service investment and planning efforts; convey information and co-ordinate resources.

Community Social Data Strategy Consortium
United Way of York Region is a proud partner in the Community Social Data Strategy Consortium and the Community Reference Group. The partnership analyses Statistics Canada data to identify and better understand the social and economic trends within our individual communiites.

Strong Communities Coalition
The Strong Communities Coalition is an alliance of the United Ways of Oakville, Peel, York and Durham, and the GTA/905 Healthcare Alliance. The Coalition’s goal is to improve local and timely access to comprehensive and quality health care and social services. To achieve this goal, the Coalition advocates for fair and equitable provincial funding policies and formulae for health and social services.
